2006/07 Print Application for Activity Sanction- RBC Riders
- Canada Winter Games
- Canadian Open Snowboard Tour
- Canadian National Snowboarding Championships
RBC Riders introduces young participants to competitive snowboarding through a Snowboardcross-type of event. The event uses a “slingshot” format (one rider on the course at a time), and the features on the course are designed to facilitate the development of the “ABC” fundamentals of snowboarding skills: Agility, Balance, and Coordination of jumping and turning.
As a skill development program, RBC Riders encourages participation and provides rewards to all participants. The RBC Riders program is a partnership between the CSF, the ASA, and the organization running the program on snow. The delivering organization can be a snowboard club, a mountain resort, a snowboard shop, a school, or a private club. The delivering organization is responsible for the on-snow delivery of the program, including recruiting participants and coaches, tracking participation and results, and forwarding records to the ASA.

Canadian Open Snowboard Tour
The Canadian Open Snowboard Tour is the CSF’s nation-wide tour, making stops in the four major provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The competitions are FIS-sanctioned NorAm events that are part of the North American Snowboard events schedule.
Canadian National Snowboarding Championships
The CSF, in collaboration with the hosting Provincial Snowboard Association (PSA), annually holds the Canadian National Snowboarding Championships at the end of the snowboarding season. The CSF allocates a certain amount of competitor quota spots per FIS discipline to each recognized PSA. It is the responsibility of the PSA to select competitors to represent their province at the Canadian National Snowboarding Championships. The Canadian National Snowboarding Championships are for FIS-licensed athletes only.
The ASA has a policy and set of criteria for selecting athletes to represent Alberta at the Canadian National Snowboarding Championships. Athletes will be notified by email if they have been selected to represent Alberta at the Nationals. Entry fees must be paid in full before the athlete can attend Nationals for Alberta.
