Report a Concern<\/h2>\n

You will be directed to the Alberta Safe Sport Complaint Mechanism (ABSSCM), powered by ALIAS, where you will complete an online complaint form. The complainant will be contacted within 48 working hours. The receivability conclusion target is approximately 10 business days and may vary depending on availability.<\/p>\n

ALIAS case managers are experienced in supporting individuals who have experienced maltreatment and are professionally and personally independent of Alberta Snowboard. They understand Alberta Snowboard\u2019s Safe Sport policies and are qualified to manage complaints in a professional and confidential manner.<\/p>\n

Why This Matters<\/h3>\n

As a provincially funded sport organization, Alberta Snowboard is required to implement an independent third party complaint process. Alberta Snowboard has partnered with the Alberta Sport Leadership Association<\/a> and their contracted independent third party adjudicators, ALIAS Solutions Inc., to manage all complaints.<\/p>\n

This process is supported by the Government of Alberta and applies to all Alberta Snowboard participants, including athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, directors, employees, contractors, and members, as well as parents or guardians of participants under the age of majority.<\/p>\n

This approach ensures that concerns are addressed through a fair, independent, and consistent process, and reinforces our commitment to a safe and respectful sport environment.<\/p>\n

Scope of the Process<\/h3>\n

The Alberta Safe Sport Complaint Mechanism addresses concerns related to maltreatment, including harassment, abuse, discrimination, and bullying.<\/p>\n

It does not handle concerns involving procedures, team selection, coaching decisions, suspensions, competition or misconduct reports, or training and scheduling matters. These concerns should be directed to your local club or organization in accordance with their policies.<\/p>\n

If you are unsure whether your concern constitutes maltreatment, please review the Alberta Universal Code of Conduct (AB UCC)<\/a>, along with Alberta Snowboard\u2019s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy and Discipline and Complaints Policy.<\/a><\/p>\n

Our Commitment<\/h3>\n

Alberta Snowboard abides by the Alberta Universal Code of Conduct (AB UCC)<\/a> to guide the organization, our members, and all participants in ensuring the safety and well-being of those involved in the sport of snowboarding.<\/p>\n

Each individual has a responsibility to help keep the sport safe. Reports of maltreatment that come to the attention of Alberta Snowboard staff or Board members will be directed to ALIAS through the \u00ab\u00a0Report a Complaint\u00a0\u00bb<\/a> process.<\/p>\n

By providing this service, Alberta Snowboard reaffirms its commitment to protecting its members and maintaining a safe and positive environment across all programs, activities, and events.<\/p>\n
