I was introduced to snowboarding as a parent -through a “learn to snowboard” program sponsored by our son’s elementary school. I signed up to chaperone, stoked to learn at the same time as all three of my sons. Though I learned MUCH slower than the guys, that program was the start of something pretty special! In fact, since our introduction to snowboarding, we’ve enjoyed priceless family days in the mountains, countless hours of volunteering at local snowboard competitions, even watching one of our boys compete at national and international competitions. Snowboarding has given us so much – so getting involved with the ASA has been a meaningful way for me to give back to this great sport and community.
