About – 2027 Canada Winter Games
The 2027 Canada Winter Games will take place in Québec, bringing together the country’s top junior athletes to compete on a national stage. Snowboard events will include Parallel Giant Slalom, Snowboardcross, Slopestyle, Big Air, and Halfpipe for both men and women.
Athlete Eligibility
- Ages 13–19 as of December 31, 2026 (born 2007–2013)
- Must meet Canada Games eligibility rules
- Athletes cannot be senior national team members or past Olympians/Senior World Championship competitors
- Team Alberta may enter up to 4 male and 4 female athletes, depending on event entries
Coach Requirements
- All coaches must be Competition-Introduction Advanced Trained in the NCCP system
- Must complete NCCP modules: Leading Drug Free Sport, Managing Conflict, and Manage a Sport Program
- If a team includes male athletes, at least one coach must be male; if a team includes female athletes, at least one coach must be females
Preparing for the Games
For the 2025–2026 winter season, Alberta Snowboard will be providing Integrated Support Team (IST) services and specialized clinics to help our athletes prepare for the Games. These will focus on performance, technical skill development, and overall athlete wellness to ensure Team Alberta is ready to compete at the highest level.
The Canada Winter Games are a vital step in the high-performance pathway, giving athletes the opportunity to compete against the best from across Canada while gaining invaluable multi-sport experience.
