EDUCATION. ACCOUNTABILITY. CULTURE.
We believe education is the foundation of safe, inclusive, and accountable sport.
At Alberta Snowboard, our goal is not just to respond to issues, but to prevent them. Through our Resource Hub, we are creating a proactive approach that supports coaches, athletes, officials, and communities with the knowledge and tools they need to lead responsibly and confidently.
Education plays a critical role in reducing harm, strengthening decision-making, and building environments where respect, inclusion, and safety are the standard — not the exception.
Our work aligns with Safe Sport principles, ensuring clear pathways for both education and reporting. While formal complaint processes remain an essential part of accountability, our focus is on equipping our community with the awareness and skills needed to address challenges early, resolve issues appropriately, and create positive experiences from the start.
This includes ongoing education in areas such as:
- Inclusion and equity
- Mental health and well-being
- Indigenous engagement
- Safe Sport and ethical leadership
When people are informed, they make better decisions.
When leaders are supported, environments become safer.
And when we invest in education, we reduce the need for intervention.
This is how we build trust.
This is how we strengthen our sport.
This is how we lead in Alberta.
