CONTRACTED SERVICES: 6 Months (with a possibility of renewal)
OVERVIEW OF SERVICES:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for overseeing various financial functions to ensure compliance and efficiency within the Alberta Snowboarding Association. The Bookkeeper reports to the Executive Director directly, or through a Finance Director or equivalent if in place.
REQUIREMENTS/INFO:
- Resides in Calgary (surrounding area)
- 10 Hours a month (more during audit season)
- Must have experience with Quickbooks
- Priority will be given to those with Non-For-Profit Experience
PRIMARY DELIVERABLES:
Financial Oversight and Administration
- Provide oversight of external reporting functions such as Alberta Sport, CS Hosting, and ALGC.
- Manage banking relationships.
- Administer payroll systems.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and generate regular financial reports.
- Oversee the accounting system and reconcile bank statements.
- Monitor, flag, and recommend strategies to manage and mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure compliance and oversight with revenue sources, including Alberta Sport, Corporate Partnership agreements, and other contracts.
- Manage Cash Flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Process all financial documents in a timely manner.
- Lead the audit process and prepare/facilitate the filing of external reports.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Treasurer, and Finance Committee to align financial activities with the strategic plan.
- Achieve other deliverables and tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or Finance Committee
The Bookkeeper reports directly to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with the Treasurer and Finance Committee.
